To be counted as a gin, the recipe must contain juniper (a tart, slightly citrussy, aromatic berry), though most are also made with a selection of botanicals that impart distinctive flavours. Bombay Sapphire — the vodka drinker’s gin— is perhaps the most neutral on the market, but for those with more adventurous tastes, here are three we’ve recently sampled.
