You may or may not remember Marc Wootton from his genius Channel 4 series My New Best Friend (which you can now watch on You Tube and 4oD). Well, he’s now taken the same brand of Baron Cohen-esque comedy – which basically involves unleashing his nightmarish creations onto an unsuspecting public – to America in new series La La Land which follows three British wannabes in search of fame and fortune in Los Angeles. It’s a documentary, but with him as the only actor. The results are, by turns, funny and excruciating. It’s coming to BBC3 in May.
