It’s taken a while for designers to get the hang of these blogamajigs, but it looks like there’s a couple who’ve finally got it. Rather than the direct selling approach – hard sells rarely work these days – designers are taking the indirect route.

Two brands who manage this excellently are Shipley & Halmos and Band of Outsiders.

Shipley & Halmos’ blog, Numerous Drawings, is a collection of sketches
done by the duo that showcase various pieces in their world.

Band Of Outsiders have taken a decidedly more irreverent route, showcasing founder Scott Steinberg’s love of cookies. Aided by some witty commentary from the man himself, it’s a enjoyable read – although eating cookies isn’t advised if you plan on actually fitting into of the label’s clothes.
