The Manual – How to hang wallpaper

1. Plan the room out centering on a chimneybreast or featured wall and get any mismatch in the wallpaper where it is least noticeable (in a corner if possible), then mark a vertical line on the wall with a plumbline and hang your first drop up to it.

2. Always line the walls with the best quality lining paper (preferably 1000 gauge MAV Erfurt lining paper), and don’t ‘wrap’ the paper round internal corners. Go round the corner by 1cm then overlap the next drop into the corner on top of the 1cm.

3. And remember; if the paper is expensive, delicate or difficult to hang employ a specialist paperhanger. It could save you money and frustration in the long run!
