Crepe-ing back into fashion

rag-bone-autumn-2010-footwear-02

The reemergence of the desert boot has led to several small changes in menswear, the biggest being crepe being seen as a worth sole alternative again. Usually shunned in favour of leather soles, there’s a few companies working to bring back the crepe sole into favour this autumn.

The most notable is CFDA winner, Rag & Bone, who’s autumn/winter collection features crepe soles galore. Also making use of crepe soles are London boutique B-Store and US shoemaker Mark McNairy. With Rag & Bone’s autumn/winter collection soon to hit stores, expect more than a few high street stores to gain inspiration from their wares by next summer.
