File this site under things we never knew we needed until now. Drinkify, essentially Spotify for drink lovers, works by making drinks according to what music you like. Type in ‘Led Zeppelin’ and it will bring up the Led Zepellin drink, which is equal parts Canadian Club whiskey and coffee. Some drinks are more creative than others – newer bands tend to get stuck with plain beers – but it’s a fun way to waste away the odd work hour. Whatever you do, keep well away from the Miles Davis.

Ever wondered how denim chinos exist? Don’t worry, we thought the same thing. As jeans are defined by the use of rivets, any trouser without them can’t be called jeans. Which explains why these chinos (£24, ASOS) are called denim chinos whilst being made of denim. Sort of. This also means that the fit is a little more forgiving, as jeans were originally designed for horse riding – something you’re unlikely to be doing on your lunch break from the office.

The undershirt has had a bad rap. We blame it on those people who wear it under a near see-through short sleeve shirt (hi-fi shop area managers take note). If you can get that image out of your mind then here’s an undershirt that will keep you far warmer than you could have imagined and, crucially, go completely unseen. So you’ll get away with wearing fewer layers even as the temperature drops. (£7.90, Uniqlo.co.uk)

Last year BMW invited American artist Jeff Koons to design their M3 GT2 to race at Le Mans. The 17th artist to have had the honour, Koons produced a suitably memorable pattern designed on 3D CAD machines to reflect speed and movement. If the full-size version is a little too much for your tastes, this miniature model does the same job on a scale less likely to bring up your lunch. Plus, there’s an engine compartment with a boot lid that opens. 1:18, £140 Available online at www.bmw-shop.com and from BMW dealerships

What better way to enter ‘chunky knit’ season than with a high-guage wool cardigan from Inverallan, one of the last remaining Aran hand-knitters. If it’s warm enough to get the local fisherman through a North Sea winter, it’ll do the job for you. £200, www.themandonstore.com
