Londoners Rejoice: The Night Tube Has Finally Been Given A Start Date

About time too

After a year of strikes, squabbles and stalemates, the night tube is finally going to be implemented on 19 August, running on Fridays and Saturdays on the Central and Victoria lines, with the Jubilee, Piccadilly and Northern lines following soon after.

There are currently 200 part-time drivers are currently undergoing a 14-week training programme for the night tube, which is expected to eventually create 2,000 permanent jobs and raise an extra £360 million for the city's economy.

New London Mayor Sadiq Khan has taken little time implementing the policy that continuously eluded his predecessor, although who knows how many more disputes could arise before we can finally get home at 3am without being fleeced by a surging Uber, or having to brave the harrowing realities of the night bus.
