If you enjoy your tech stats – and we know they’re like catnip to confirmed cameraphiles – then Sony’s Alpha 77 will have you frothing from every aperture. A 24.3MP sensor, 2.4 million dot OLED electronic viewfinder, GPS, 19 autofocus points, 12 frames-per-second full-resolution shooting and translucent mirror tech — unlike traditional DSLR cameras, there’s no need to raise and lower the mirror, and it’s this that allows such speedy continuous shooting. The build is much better than the Alpha 65, too (which was plastic): here we have a magnesium-alloy chassis so the high-performance 77 feels more rugged. (£1,150, body only sony.co.uk)
