Given the deep snow of the past few winters, a good sledge suddenly seems like a savvy investment. Forget battered tea trays and cheap plastic imitations; and get fully prepared with a proper version like this from Norwegian company Lillehammer. Crafted from maple and beechwood and complete with stainless-steel runners, it folds away when the white stuff’s melted. (And you can always use it as a shoe rack in the summer.) Last year BMW invited American artist Jeff Koons to design their M3 GT2 to race at Le Mans. The 17th artist to have had the honour, Koons produced a suitably memorable pattern designed on 3D CAD machines to reflect speed and movement. If the full-size version is a little too much for your tastes, this miniature model does the same job on a scale less likely to bring up your lunch. Plus, there’s an engine compartment with a boot lid that opens. 1:18, £140 Available online at www.bmw-shop.com and from BMW dealerships
