When the news broke that a British man had been caught allegedly smuggling £70,000 worth of peregrine falcon eggs, it got us to thinking the nerve it takes to be a smuggler these days. Originally designed back in 1841 to display a mediocre-sounding statue of a horse, Trafalgar Square’s fourth plinth has since played host to an array of unexpected guests, including Marc Quinn’s nude sculpture of disabled sculptor Alison Lapper and Antony Gormley’s platform from last year, which invited members of the public – with slightly irritating self satisfaction – to “become a work of art”. This year, in celebration of Italian film and its creators, Peroni Nastro Azzurro have joined forces with acclaimed Italian director, Gabriele Muccino, to create their Accademia del Film Wrap Party Tour, which kicks off in London’s Truman Brewery on 26 August.
