New York electric guitar wielders Ratatat first careered onto the scene back in 2001 under the moniker “Cherry”. The title was quickly transfered to the header of Ratatat’s best track to date, the swollen melodies of which quickly had us enwrapped. Hot on the neon heels of the new trailer for Tron: Legacy is this atmospheric sampler of the accompanying score – composed by none other than Gallic road safety enthusiasts, Daft Punk.
If the duo’s signature blend of underwater bass, metronomic guitar riffs and ethereal synth aren’t enough to transport you back to the halcyon days of French house, watching the finished 3D film at the BFI Imax – with its 11,600-watt digital sound system – should do the trick. Glow sticks optional. Out on 17 December
