Dressed in the finest seasonal wear from the likes of Dior Homme, Louis Vuitton and Prada (the bean pole that is Tom Wrigglesworth looked particularly fetching in his shrunken Prada jumper), Britain’s comedy heroes took their places last month for Esquire’s Kings of Comedy portfolio shoot. (more…)

Considering George O’Dowd’s less than chummy relationship with the British media, the BBC sailed into choppy waters with last night’s Boy George biopic, Worried About The Boy. (more…)

You may or may not remember Marc Wootton from his genius Channel 4 series My New Best Friend (which you can now watch on You Tube and 4oD). Well, he’s now taken the same brand of Baron Cohen-esque comedy – which basically involves unleashing his nightmarish creations onto an unsuspecting public – to America in new series La La Land which follows three British wannabes in search of fame and fortune in Los Angeles. It’s a documentary, but with him as the only actor. The results are, by turns, funny and excruciating. It’s coming to BBC3 in May.

If they don’t get a series out of this, then our world is even more twisted than theirs.

Well there we were, innocently watching the Super Bowl last night (and yes, not feeling so fresh today, thanks for asking) and we happened to see the BBC’s new trail for the Winter Olympics. We’ll be damned if it doesn’t put Jamie Hewlett’s sequences for the Beijing games – nice as they were – in the shade. (more…)

A new series of Newswipe from the brilliantly acerbic (and secretly rather nice) Charlie Brooker starts tonight, and if you’re anywhere near your sofa this evening you’d be advised to sit down and pay close attention. (more…)
