And no, this question isn’t rhetorical. With trousers creeping higher by the second, it’s only a matter of time before we reach the 3/4 length stage. It hasn’t happened yet, but it’s starting to pop up amongst the most influential crowd in Japan (aka the birthplace for trends like this). Even folks like Visvim’s founder Hiroki Nakamura (pictured above) are wearing trousers so high they’re cropped a couple of inches above boots. It’s a scary thought, but come next winter your friend with the 3/4 length umbro shorts could end up being the most fashion forward person you know. You’ve been warned.

We like hats, and we have to admit that Pete Doherty did a great job a few years ago of at least putting them back on the style agenda. However, despite their popularity among trendy young men so far we have seen little sign of them successfully re-entering the mainstream – maybe their presence on the catwalks of Paris and Milan will go some way to persuading grown up men that they can start to wear hats and not look ridiculous.
