Rage Against the Machine hasn't made music since 2011, but they got fans interested when they recently launched a website, ProphetsOfRage.com, counting down until something mysterious happens on June 1, accompanied by the hashtag #TakeThePowerBack. There were even posters around Los Angeles that read "Clear the way for the Prophets of Rage. The Party's Over. Summer 2016." 

Well, according to Billboard, that mysterious countdown leads to a brand-new supergroup. The group will feature everyone from Rage Against the Machine except frontman Zack de la Rocha—leaving guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk. Plus, it adds Chuck D from Public Enemy and B-Real from Cypress Hill on vocals. The band name, Prophets of Rage, comes from a Public Enemy song of the same name.

Prophets of Rage will perform songs from all three groups and are planning several shows in the Los Angeles Area and a tour this summer. It's not quite the Rage Against the Machine reunion as some fans hoped, but it's something new—and an election year is perfect timing for these politically minded performers. After all, Rage Against the Machine did predict a Trump campaign back in 1999:
