The ultimate coast meets country retreat located on the cliff tops of North Devon, where better to explore the endless coast paths, relax with a glass of something and enjoy the amazing views in this unspoilt part of the world.
The space
Beautiful open plan cabin with a modern coastal theme, full-length windows making the most of the amazing views. A large vintage leather sofa to snuggle up on and watch a movie, read a book or play one of the board games in the nostalgic suitcase with that cheeky glass of something in front of the wood burning effect stove. There is a shaker style fully equipped kitchen with views across the valley to the cliff top ruin or why not throw open the double doors and take in that coastal air and view. There is Tassimo coffee machine. At the end of the day, sink into the comfy king-size bed nestled behind the bellowing curtain and stare at the stars through the roof window. Just outside the cabin is a little deck and garden of your own to sit and watch the sun set into the sea....perfect. Kittiwakes is offered on a self-catering basis.
Other things to note
Please note due to the beautiful cliff top location we have 'rural' wifi, it's very poor. Kittiwakes is for 2 adults only. The coffee machine is a Tassimo pods are available in most supermarkets.

We had a lovely stay in Clare’s place, the location was perfect to explore Margate, lots of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants within a 5 minuet walk. The place was clean and had thoughtful touches, it has two equally sized double rooms perfect for 2 couples. Thank you Clare!

Salt Cabin, a serene retreat in historic Portsmouth harbour. Enjoy sea views and sunsets from a private deck.
The self-contained cabin has a secure, private entrance with a covered porch and automatic outside lighting for safe access in the dark.
Surrounded by coastal birdlife and a changing tideline, you can relax on the deck or put your feet up in front of the TV.
Throughout the year, boats come ashore for storage or maintenance, bringing another dimension to the area and living experience.
The space
Salt Cabin boasts a private deck overlooking the changing tideline, an open plan living space with a simple galley including fridge and microwave, kettle and n’espresso coffee machine; we've throw in a few pods to get you going. 
Wood floors, greyscale walls, and furnishings that add a pop of colour create a homey atmosphere.
Sleeping is open plan on a comfortable, four poster bed with Egyptian Cotton linen and an en-suite shower room and WC with Bluetooth mirror with a speaker to play your favourite music. An air-conditioning unit will keep you cool in the summer months and a Dyson fan heater for winter.
Towels and toiletries are provided along with a tin of curiosities including those emergency items like a sewing kit or shaving kit. There's an iron and a hairdryer and a Dyson hoover if you need to have a sweep-up.
Stunning full-width bifold doors frame one end of the cabin with integrated, remote-controlled blinds so you don't even have to get out of bed to appreciate the view.
Fall back on the plush leather sofa with your feet up and catch up with the latest in style or travel with a selection of cool magazines. Or maybe a game of cards with the Roberts DAB radio playing quietly in the background. There is also a TV connected to the WiFi for your viewing pleasure, you’ll need your own subscription for streaming.
There’s a compact desk and chair in case you need to catch-up with your emails using the complimentary Wifi.

Host candlit dinners in the dining space. We reckon you'll leave feeling good.

The whole space is yours. 
There's a shared garden out the back, but we prefer taking out a floor cushion and chilling out on the back staircase. It's a suntrap.

There's a real creative energy in Margate, with awesome independent bars, restaurants, studios, and shops. The pink sunsets are amazing too. Discover one of the best sandy beaches in England, or walk along the Viking Coastal Trail.
You can walk everywhere in Margate.
There is free parking on the street outside, but if it's busy there is Trinity Square car park around the back of the property which is £5 for 24 hours.

We loved our stay at The Chocolate Box. Great with two young children - cosy and warm! Fab location and Sophie and Harry were very responsive and thoughtful. Very much hope to visit again.

Stayed at chocolate box cottage for two nights and it was very cosy and welcoming. The location is great, a stones throw from both the beach and the high street. Had a couple of housekeeping issues but they were delt with promptly. Beds and bedding were super comfy !

We stayed at The Chocolate Box for three days at the end of October and it was the perfect mini break. The location is perfect for going to the beach and for getting into town quickly but still feels private and tucked away. The cottage itself is beautifully finished and the beds are super comfy. Communication with Sophie was excellent from start to finish. We would recommend in a heartbeat and will definitely be back in the future. 5 ***** all round.

We had a fantastic weekend here. We had great communication with Sophie and Harry as soon as we booked this. The welcome and arrival instructions were very helpful and thorough. Sophie was always immediately responsive to messages. After a long and stressful drive from London, we loved the welcome hamper with local treats and a lovely note from Sophie and Harry. The house is as lovely as it looks in the pictures. It was spotless clean. The living/dining room is spacious yet cosy. The house quickly heats up and was very warm even with a storm outside! The main bedroom is large and the twin room is perfect for 2 kids. The bathroom is spacious and clean. The kitchen has everything you need for any meal.
