At the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Han Solo is killed by his son, Kylo Ren. And if you didn't know that already and are reading this post, then shame on you. But even though Solo was one of the most beloved film characters of all time—and, in the Star Wars universe, a decorated war hero who saved the galaxy multiple times—his death was rather breezed over. There's a somber hug between his estranged wife, Leia, and Rey, whom they had just met, and that's about it.

And now, Carrie Fisher, may have just accidentally spoiled how the franchise is handling Han's death going forward. As IGN reports:

"Speaking at Star Wars Celebration in London, Fisher misheard a question posed to her by fellow Star Wars actor Warwick Davis, and when asked, "What do you know of the period between the end of Return of the Jedi and the beginning of The Force Awakens?", she answered sadly, "Han's Funeral." She quickly corrected herself, saying, "The old one, oh," before continuing, "Han and I have a very volatile relationship obviously, which leads to space divorce. No, I don't think we are divorced, we're just estranged."

If Han Solo's funeral takes place between episodes seven and eight, it's likely that the franchise is moving on from his death.

Ouch. Even Darth Vader got a funeral.
