Ellie Goulding's probably used to clunky questions about her personal life, being one of our biggest pop stars and all.
But being asked if she's pregnant on live television probably takes the piss. Being asked if your imaginary baby belongs to the fifth in line to the throne? You've *got* to laugh.
Ellie was on Australian TV show The Project via a video link chatting about the new Bridget Jones film, Bridget Jones's Baby, as her track 'Still Falling For You' appears on the soundtrack.
The interview started innocuously enough, with the presenter asking if she's more like Fifty Shades Of Grey's Anastasia or Bridget Jones after appearing on both films' soundtracks.
"Ideally neither. I'm definitely more of a Bridget, especially in the latest film she's very relatable to me and drinks like a fish," Ellie answers. Cool.
Then Ellie is asked to confirm: "You're not having a baby, though? Just to be clear."
Er, what?
"I'm not having a baby any time soon," she politely responds. Now would probably be a good time to drop the subject, right? Wrong.
The presenter decides to ask her if she's having Prince Harry's baby. At this point Ellie awkwardly looks around the room and shakes her head.
"Please don't make me go red. I'm bright red," she laughs. "Why did I have a feeling that was going to come up? You naughty people."
Expertly manoeuvred.
Ellie was rumoured to be secretly dating Prince Harry earlier this year, after they were apparently spotted canoodling at the polo in London.
