Drake has beaten The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Michael Jackson and even Kanye West to the title of the most streamed Spotify song since records began.

With over 880 million streams of 'One Dance' to date, his hit jogged to the number one spot without breaking a sweat. In May, it became his first ever solo number one on both sides of the Atlantic.

Taken from Drake's hit album Views, 'One Dance' has now smashed through the record set by Major Lazer, DJ Snake and MØ's song 'Lean On', which accrued a solid 526 million global plays last November.

What's most surprising is that Drake originally released Views with a two-week Apple Music exclusive (clocking up 600,000 sales on iTunes in its first 24 hours of release, no less.)

But despite this, Spotify recorded that it had over 245 million streams in week one in the United States alone.

And the listens just kept going up and up and up, catching 327 million in the following two weeks.

'One Dance' didn't have the same promo treatment as some of his more headline-grabbing hits like 'Hotline Bling' or his duet with Rihanna, 'Work'.

So it seems Drizzy doesn't need RiRi or a viral video to bag a top spot (for 15 weeks in the UK, lest you forget). It didn't even have its own music video until September.

Unfortunately, any celebrations will have to go on hold as he recently postponed his remaining concert dates because of an ankle injury, poor lad.

Want to push Drake's Spotify streaming figures even higher? Well, here you go. You're welcome.
