Finally, over two weeks after winning the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature, Bob Dylan has finally acknowledged that he won one of the most prestigious awards humanly possible.

In a statement posted on the Nobel's official site, Bob Dylan told the academy's permanent secretary, Sara Danius, that the news about the Nobel "left me speechless." Literally, apparently, because it took him 17 days to give any sign that he even knew he won it.

After there was some speculation whether Bob Dylan would even bother accepting his prize (leading the academy to call him "impolite and arrogant"), Dylan said that "of course" he would, and that he "appreciate[s] the honor so much."

Will Dylan attend the acceptance ceremony? Well, let's not push it. Although he told The Telegraph that he's "absolutely" planning to go to the event in Stockholm, he then added, "If it's at all possible."

In other words, sure, it would be great—but not the absolute highest priority on Dylan's to-do list.
