According to reports, in what sounds like one hell of a party, Princess Beatrice accidentally sliced Ed Sheeran's face with a sword while mock-knighting James Blunt.
The accident is said to have occurred at a party at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, when James told the Princess that he'd love to be Sir James, before she picked up a sword.
The Sun reports that James got down on one knee, but as the Princess lifted the sword to tap it on his shoulder, it swung back and caught Ed on the cheek.
"The blade cut into his face and it was just a few inches from his right eye," a source told the paper. "A couple of the guests said it could have been worse and he could have been blinded in the eye, but Ed really played it down."
The source said that Beatrice was "very upset", while Ed insisted it was "just an accident".
"However, it became apparent that the wound needed treatment, so Ed was taken to hospital. He had to have stitches put in," the source added.
What a trooper.
