Surely one day in the not-so-distant future we'll go a whole week, or maybe just 24 hours, without hearing that something will break our fragile and temperamental iPhones.

But that day is not today.

Users on Apple.com are complaining that the latest iPhone is killing their phone's battery when it gets down to 30%. Like, it literally just gives up when it gets to that point, despite the fact it's not even on red. Not cool, Apple. Not cool.

Some iPhone users are saying that it started happening when the 10.1 software upgrade launched, and others are saying that they're only having trouble after downloading the later 10.1.1 update.

One user who said he was using an iPhone 5 said: "It jumps from 30 per cent charge to one per cent in a few seconds then shuts down.

"As soon as it reboots after connecting to a charger it show 30 per cent charge.

"When I unplug it right away it still shows 30 per cent and runs like nothing happened for a good few hours."

Good times…

Apple is yet commented on the issue.

So if you're thinking of treating yourself to a little iOS 10.1.1 action, you may want to hold off for a bit.
