Have you been scratching your head about what to get your loved ones for Christmas, but you just can't put your finger on it? Nordstrom has got you covered! Fork over £65 in hard-earned cash to get yourself a beautiful, one-of-a-kind rock—or, as the retailer puts it, a "medium leather wrapped stone."
The official description reads:
"A paperweight? A Conversation piece? A work of art? It's up to you. This smooth Los Angeles-area stone—wrapped in rich, vegetable-tanned American leather secured by sturdy contrast whipstitching — is sure to draw attention wherever it rests. A traditional hardening process gives the leather a beautiful ombré effect. Like all Made Solid pieces, this one is cut, shaped, sewn and finished by hand in artist Peter Maxwell's Los Angeles studio."
If you're thinking, literally every part of this has gotta be a fuckin' joke, right?, you're not alone. However, the company who makes the product, Made Solid, told BuzzFeed that these ultra-expensive rocks are "not a joke" and that they're "really cool, labor intensitve objects that are used as everything from paperweights to doorstops to home/display accents." "[They're] one of our most consistently popular items, actually...they sold out at most stores," Made Solid told BuzzFeed.
Obviously, the most important part of the Medium Leather Wrapped Stone is the comments section. Here's just one of many gems:
