American airline Southwest is known for its mildly kitschy cabin announcements, but this one probably wasn't planned. As a flight from San Francisco pulled into the gate in Kansas City on 7 December, the pilot did not offer your usual "Thanks for flying with us" shtick. Instead, he congratulated the passengers on drinking every drop of booze on the plane over a flight time of just three hours and 20 minutes.

There's an explanation, WPIX tells us: It was a "Raiders (an American football team from California) flight." The jet was chock full of fans on their way to Kansas City ahead of their squad's match-up with the Chiefs. Now, their reputations might precede them by about the 1,800 mile distance of the flight. But a trusted, independent source—Raiders beat reporter Jimmy Durkin—was onboard. According to WPIX, Durkin reported the Raiders fans were "not particularly rowdy."
