In 2016, the year that will likely go down in history as The Worst Year, IMDb's Top Movies of 2016 list isn't much of a shock—but that doesn't mean we all shouldn't be fucking ashamed of ourselves.

First, let me preface this by highlighting that IMDb's list isn't based on opinion or some nuanced perspective of some poor schmuck at IMDb with bad taste; it's just a list of the films that garnered the most pageviews on IMDb's site throughout 2016. Of course, a film can get pageviews for reasons other than being good, but still, this list is pretty grave indeed.

  1. Suicide Squad
  2. Captain America: Civil War
  3. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
  4. Deadpool
  5. X-Men: Apocalypse
  6. The Jungle Book
  7. The Magnificent Seven
  8. Ghostbusters
  9. Warcraft
  10. The Legend of Tarzan

Ouch. Any list with Suicide Squad in the lead is a Bad List (because, as we've deduced previously, Suicide Squad is a Bad Movie), but considering the extremely high concentration of superhero movies and adaptations of already existing films, the list is what we all deserve this year. And we deserve Method Actor Jared Leto, too.
