George Michael's family have strongly denied that there were any "suspicious circumstances surrounding his death" after much tabloid speculation.

The singer's shocking death of suspected heart failure on Christmas Day left fans all over the world stunned, especially since Michael was at times reclusive in his final years.

It's likely no surprise that there has been immense speculation about the hours leading up to Michael's death, so his family spokesperson is attempting to clear things up for fans.

His family spokesperson told The Guardian: "The family and close friends of George have been touched beyond words by the incredible outpouring of love for him in the hours and days since his death.

"For someone whose life was ultimately about his music and the love he had for his family and friends, his fans and the world at large, there could be no more fitting tribute than the many, many, kind words that have been said and the numerous plays his records have received.

"Contrary to some reports, there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and from the bottom of our hearts we thank those who, rightly, have chosen to celebrate his life and legacy at this most distressing of times."

We're also now hearing from George's longtime boyfriend Fadi Fawaz, who tragically discovered the 'Jesus to a Child' singer's body on Christmas morning.

"We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch," Fawaz told The Daily Telegraph. "I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed. We don't know what happened yet.

"Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I. Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was - he was a beautiful person."

It was long-time partner Fadi who was by Michael's side and offered updates for fans when the singer nearly died from pneumonia back in 2011.

On Monday, George's former boyfriend Kenny Goss also said he was "heartbroken" over the loss of such "an extremely kind and generous man".

Since his passing, stories of George's incredible generosity and decades-long commitment to charities such as Childline, the Terrence Higgins Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support have inspired fans.

There are currently early plans for an all-star tribute concert and charity single campaign designed to honour George's memory and support his favourite charities.
