The Christmas-New Year gap is a difficult time for the world's celebrities - as newsrooms and gossip sites quieten down for the festive period, it can be very difficult to get your name out there.

Not for Drake and J-Lo, who may or may not be a couple, according to both their Instagram feeds.

Rumours abound in recent weeks that the rapper and 90s pop icon have become "A Thing"... and this morning the "are-they-aren't-they?" couple stoked the flames of intrigue further after each, quite simultaneously, posted photos on the picture-sharing site of them cuddling on a sofa.

They might not be a couple, of course - neither wrote a caption - though Drake's eyes tell their own story. In any case, the pictures no doubt gave both stars a much-needed Christmas publicity boost during the festive gossip lull.

The photo follows news that JLo turned down a $1 million New Year's Eve gig in Miami to hang out with her new beau. She declined to perform to take up "personal family time," but sources have taken that to mean she'll be spending time with Drake in Vegas.

If their budding romance alone weren't drama enough, Drake's ex, Rhianna, who dated Drake in a longtime on-again-off-again relationship, reportedly unfollowed unfollowed J-Lo on Instagram in the wake of the postings sparking further rumours the R&B singer isn't happy about it.

But it's still possible that the two aren't romantically involved at all—a source told People the singer and rapper are actually making music together. (Just like Drake and Taylor Swift, whose musical collaboration started off as dating rumors as well.)

Original post, 12/21: In a celebrity romance that nobody saw coming this year, JLo and Drake are sparking dating rumors—or as TMZ sources put it, "it's only a matter of time," before these two make things official.

After Drizzy was spotted at JLo's Las Vegas residency show last week, the two later shared a selfie they snapped backstage. Drake captioned the photo, "? <-------- Lotta those," which, to be fair, seems like a perfectly innocent reaction for anyone taking a selfie with JLo, but according to TMZ, the two have been spending time together since. Drake even reportedly visited JLo's Vegas show for a second time in the past week.

Then, on Monday night, the rapper rented out Delilah restaurant in West Hollywood for an intimate dinner with 20 guests—one of whom was JLo. TMZ reports that the pair are reportedly working on music together and that while they're not yet officially dating, "it's pretty clearly going in that direction."

Does this mean we can expect a Drake x Rihanna music/love affair from the rapper and JLo? We certainly hope so...
