Meryl Streep gave a brilliant speech while accepting her lifetime achievement Golden Globe award Sunday, but there were a few people who didn't appreciate it. President-elect Donald Trump of course chimed in to say that Meryl is "one of the most overrated actresses in Hollywood" after she took aim at him for mocking a disabled reporter. Trump, however, was not the only target of Meryl's speech, which also included a dig at mixed martial arts and American football. "Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners," she said. "If you kick 'em all out, you'll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts."

And now, one MMA representative has taken it upon himself to invite Meryl to a fight so she could see that it actually is an art of sorts. "Meryl, I'm a lifelong fan of your work but also a lifelong martial artist who happens to promote mixed martial arts around the world," Scott Coker, president of Bellator MMA, wrote in a tweet. "The global sport of mixed martial arts celebrates male and female athletes from all around the world who work years tirelessly honing their craft and — yes — art. They come from every country and every walk of life." He then extended an invitation to a fight on 21 Jan at the Forum in Los Angeles, "which will feature fighters from all over the world competing at a world-class level."

Meryl has not yet responded to Scott's invitation, but given that she'll probably end up playing an MMA fighter at one point or another, she might show up just for research. (Also, if you misread Scott's tweet and thought he was inviting Meryl to actually fight, know that you are not alone.)
