Last night, President Barack Obama gave his farewell address to the nation as Commander-in-Chief.
Ahead of Donald Trump's inauguration on 20 January, Obama took to the lectern in Chicago to give thanks to thank the nation for their enduring support during his eight-year-term in office.
"Every day I learned from you," Obama told the audience. "You made me a better president and you made me a better man."
He also took the opportunity to thank his wife Michelle for standing by his side.
"You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody. And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. You've made me proud. You've made the country proud."
Following the speech, Obama continued to try and inspire America when he tweeted :
While it's too early to say how POTUS will be remembered by history, it is safe to say he's held in high regard in the celebrity world, as the outpouring of famous social media tears showed.
