Has Harambe returned to Earth in the form of a Hot Cheeto? The blatant answer to that one is "fuck no," but that hasn't stopped dozens of bidders from getting the price of a gorilla-shaped cheese snack to almost $100,000 (around £80,000).

eBay user valluestampinc wrote in the item's description that "I opened up a bag of Flamin Hot Cheetos and as soon as I looked inside I came across this unique Cheetos that looks like Harambe the gorilla." Noting the Flamin' Hot Harambe measured about 1.5 inches in length, valluestampinc listed it as "Gorilla Hot Cheetos - RARE - One of a Kind Cheetos - Harambe Gorilla."

Ok, there are a lot of assumptions here, so let's break this down. Firstly, can we say for sure that this Cheeto is really the only one of its kind? Second of all, that's not even a picture of Harambe. A true Harambe fan would know that Harambe was a Western lowland gorilla, and that the image belongs to the site Arkive.org and is a mountain gorilla silverback. Yeesh, have a little respect for the dead, valluestampinc.

Nevertheless, the Cheeto has been bid on over a hundred times, with the price skyrocketing from $11.99 to (at the time this was written) $99,900. The bidding ends on Tuesday, February 7 at 3:45 a.m. Let's hope the bidder doesn't mind about the whole not-being-Harambe thing. At least the shipping's free, right?
