Over the years Porsche has built a multitude of awesome limited production cars.

Whether they were for racing or customer demand, these cars are among the most sought after models for the world's Porsche enthusiasts. Now, Porsche has put a video together showing us five of its rarest models in its factory collection.

While there are dozens of models to choose from, Porsche thinks these five cars stand out the most. First off is the 964 Turbo S, a limited production version of the regular 964 Turbo. Equipped with carbon fiber pieces and motorsport-derived mechanicals, it was the pinnacle of Porsche design in the early '90s. Only 86 were produced.

Next up is the 924 Carrera GTS. Based off the base-model front-engine 924, it certainly doesn't scream traditional Porsche, but its motorsport heritage means it shouldn't be discounted. After that comes the legendary 911 GT1. You definitely know of the 911 GT1, which was one of Porsche's most famous cars to run in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The 1984 911 SC/RS is next on the list, with only 20 units produced exclusively for rallying. It was lighter than the standard car, but had 40 more horsepower than stock. Lastly comes the 356 America Roadster, a racing car built to compete in races in the U.S. Only 16 were built.

Watch as Porsche Historical Archives Manager Dieter Landenberger walks us through these five iconic cars and lets us peak inside the secret factory warehouse.
