In a critical decision for the future of President Trump's immigration policy and his unbridled use of executive orders, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco has upheld an earlier decision blocking the Trump administration's controversial travel ban. In effect, the administration asked the court to lift a hold so the ban could once again be enforced. The court voted unanimously to maintain the hold.

The order banned the admittance of refugees for 90 days (indefinitely for Syrian citizens) and all travel, including of green-card holders, from seven majority Muslim countries. It has been met with ferocious opposition on the grounds it is merely the "Muslim ban" that Trump promised during the 2016 campaign under a different guise.
