If the only thing stopping you from packing your bags and heading over to the other side of the world is the rubbishness of sitting in a plane seat for a long haul flight, then you've officially run out of excuses.
It looks as though fully flat, lie-down airplane seats may soon be on the way to us poor, budget travel peasants, as an innovative design has arrived to bring luxury into premium economy class.
Unless you're a regular fancy pants business class traveller, you'll know all to well just how uncomfortable a long haul flight can be - usually resulting in zero sleep, a whole lot of wriggling and a bum that you're not even sure is still attached to your body.
But according to Skift, Formation Design's new proposal could completely change the way we fly.
Rather than just trying out a new type of seat, the proposal could mean a total new layout for airplane cabins. The number of lie-down seats and suites included in each plane isn't fixed, meaning that it could be completely customisable by cabin crew for each flight.
And here's how it all fits together in one handy diagram. Standard, premium economy seats take the base level, while the more spacious business class beds slot on top with a slight overlap.
The design will make the most out of the available existing space within the plane, by allowing passengers to have their seat in a fully lying down position with their feet sitting in a sort of storage cubby when completely stretched out.
