Riz Ahmed spent his 2016 impressing critics and audiences with his turn in HBO's The Night Of, before rounding off the year with a role in the latest Star Wars spectacular Rogue One.

But despite his part in helping Rogue One on its way to a massive global box office taking, when it comes to intimidating work prospects, it turns out all you need to do is to put him in front of Girls star Lena Dunham.

"She likes to dabble in lots of different things and people often say, maybe you shouldn't do so much," Riz told Digital Spy of working with Dunham at the Elle Style Awards Monday.

"But Lena—you can't tell her to slow down. She's writing, she's directing, producing, acting and improvising completely new dialogue from one take to the next as well. It's intimidating. It's mind-blowing and inspirational. So it was an amazing experience."

Riz stars alongside Lena in Girls season six, which premiered on HBO Sunday, February 12. His character, Paul-Louis, tapped into the actor's real-life rapping skills as he impressed Dunham's character at a party.

"I'm really grateful to her for reaching out to me because she could have anyone she wants," Riz added. "She's a force of nature."

And it looks like Riz is about to become a fairly unstoppable force himself as not only is he currently starring in Netflix's latest mystery drama series The OA, which will be back for a second season, but he also didn't walk away from tonight's awards ceremony empty-handed either, picking up TV Actor of the Year.

Which isn't too shabby a start to 2017, eh?
