Despite most forms of public transportation encouraging commuters to always give up their seats to those who might need them more, Instagram user Yvonne Lin claims a man has never give up his underground seat for her even once throughout her two pregnancies — until now.

As she explained in an interview with DNAinfo, while plenty of women had given up their seats to her over the years, not a single man had ever even offered; so she decided to try a little experiment. During the third trimester of her first pregnancy, Lin began carrying around a little thank you card in preparation for the first man to ever offer his seat to her. When this never happened, she decided to up the reward for her second pregnancy.

"I was getting no seats from men," she said. "[So I thought,] if I finally get a seat from a guy then I have to celebrate this some way and make sure he knows he's appreciated."

Lin then purchased a small trophy for the "#1 DECENT DUDE" willing to offer his seat to her, and carried it around in her backpack at all times.

"I thought, 'You know what, it's worth it to carry it,'"she continued. "If I finally get a seat from a guy then I have to celebrate this some way and make sure he knows he's appreciated."

Finally, eight months into her second pregnancy, a man gave up his seat for her — and she gave him his well-deserved trophy.

"He looked up at me and looked super startled and embarrassed, and he immediately stood up and said, 'Please take this seat, I just noticed,'"she said, thus concluding a fairly depressing account of modern masculinity.
