Dr. No, Oddjob, Jaws, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Goldfinger, Francisco Scarmanga—for half a century, James Bond has faced off against some of the greatest villains in film. Most recently, in what might be his final Bond film, Daniel Craig was pitted against Christoph Waltz as the leader of the global crime syndicate, Spectre.

But, in the next James Bond movie, its plot will mirror how the world has changed since the 2016 election. Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who have worked on a few Bond films, including 2015's Spectre have been approached to write the next movie. And in a recent interview, the pair said that President Donald Trump would definitely influence the plot of the 25th Bond movie.

"I'm just not sure how you would go about writing a James Bond film now," Wade said. "Each time, you've got to say something about Bond's place in the world, which is Britain's place in the world. But things are moving so quickly now, that becomes tricky. With people like Trump, the Bond villain has become a reality. So when they do another one, it will be interesting to see how they deal with the fact that the world has become a fantasy."

Craig has still not confirmed if he's returning to play Bond. But considering his enthusiasm with the last film, it doesn't seem promising. Though it will be interesting to see how Bond fares against a billionaire with unchecked power at his disposal—not that he's never done that before.
