Google Maps probably provides all the info you need to get from Point A to Point B without the Street View mode. But for far off destinations, it could be your ownly chance to see the scenery. Perhaps that's why the Google decided to give Street View an in-depth view of Vanuatu's Marum Crater and Endu village at Ambrym.

Ambrym's most notable feature is its caldera, a large depression resulting from the explosion or collapse of the center of a volcano. This caldera hosts two active volcanoes, Benbow and Marum. The photos from the Street View project are simply phenomenal.

"We believe that the volcanoes Marum and Benbow are devils," says Chief Moses, a leader in a local tribe of 7,000 explaining his heritage to Google. "If you go up to a volcano you have to be very careful because the two volcanoes could get angry at any time. We believe that Benbo is the husband and Marum is the wife. Sometimes when they don't agree there's an eruption which means the spirit is angry so we sacrifice a pig or fawel to the volcano."

As gorgeous as the volcanoes are, let's hope they don't fight any time soon.
