Uber has released data revealing the enormous variety of weird and wonderful things left in its cars by passengers.

The Uber Lost & Found Index shows that the most common items left behind in Uber cars are exactly what you'd expect. Phones are the items most likely to be swallowed by greedy back seats or sucked into a black hole underneath the driver.

The top 10 lost items are as follows:

  1. Phone
  2. Ring
  3. Keys
  4. Wallet
  5. Glasses
  6. Purse
  7. Licence/ID
  8. Gloves/Glove
  9. Charger
  10. Sunglasses

Why people are getting out their driving licence in an Uber is bemusing. After all, it's one situation in a car where you'll never be expected to drive.

However, the real fun begins when gazing down the list of the most unique items left in Ubers.

Those released include, but aren't limited to, the catalogue of crap below:

  • Lobster
  • Bulletproof vest
  • Sweet potato care package
  • Hot Cheetos
  • Smoke machine
  • Wedding outfit
  • Crime & Punishment
  • Meat packet
  • Wooden hat
  • Elf cut-out
  • Tap handle
  • 'Nintendo'
  • Cape
  • Taser
  • Dog sweater

This list paints a rather dismal picture of the human cattle travelling across cities in 2017. When not devouring lobsters on their way to the next business meeting, they're fiddling with tap handles whilst adjusting their dog's sweater.

It's also concerning to see that – according to Uber – the entirety of Nintendo, a multinational company, has been lost within a single cab.
