Liam Gallagher dedicated his first ever solo gig on Tuesday night (30 May) to the victims of last week's Manchester terror attack, with all profits going to the families of those affected.

Despite rumours that Liam was to finally reunite on stage with his brother Noel after the never-ending feud which split Oasis up eight years ago, that sadly didn't happen – but he was joined by the band's original guitarist Bonehead to play 'Be Here Now'.

The 44-year-old singer – soon to release his debut solo album As You Were – sold out his show at Manchester's 1,400-capacity O2 Ritz in a matter of minutes.

After the devastating bombing at Manchester Arena that killed 22, Liam told the crowd he wanted to "try and help pick people up", as he showcased both new tracks and some Oasis classics.

As well as 'Be Here Now', fans also got to hear 'Rock 'n' Roll Star', 'Morning Glory' and 'Slide Away'.

However, it was an a cappella encore of closer 'Live Forever' – from Oasis's debut album – which defined the night as the crowd chanted "Stand up for the 22" in a moving response.

'Don't Look Back In Anger' – a song that has come to represent Manchester's incredible spirit in recent days – was not on the setlist, but that didn't stop the audience from starting their own version.

Proceeds from the concert go to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, organised by Manchester City Council in partnership with the British Red Cross and the Manchester Evening News (MEN).

Liam's first solo tour visits London, Dublin and Glasgow later this week.
