The seventh and penultimate season of Game of Thrones is almost upon us and to celebrate, Emilia Clarke is shooting down one of the show's most popular fan theories.

Much speculation has gone into what A Song of Ice and Fire really means, with fans time and time again speculating it symbolises a union between Daenerys (who survived a walk through flames) and Jon Snow (who was killed while on watch of the White Walkers and lived to tell the tale).

This theory was further reinforced after season six all but confirmed R the + L = J theory, which would make Jon and Daenerys both Targaryens.

However, Emilia has now seemingly shot down all prospects of a Dany/Jon union, arguing that the dragon queen isn't exactly up for sharing.

"I think that she has ultimately put aside her own need for a man," she told Style Magazine.

"She is so engaged and wrapped up in leading and being the queen and ruling and fulfilling her birth right that the idea of someone coming in and sharing that title is probably something she's not comfortable with."

Whether this is possibly a spoiler that Dany and Jon won't end up together, we're not certain.
