If you mainly know Jonah Hill for his roles in The Wolf of Wall Street, 21 Jump Street and Superbad, you'll probably be shocked to see how unrecognisable he looks right now.

The actor was pictured in LA after a workout, wearing a dark blue vest, black shorts, socks and Vans and carrying a smoothie. At first glance, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a totally different person.

The 33-year-old has previously spoken publicly about having to put on weight for certain roles, and how he takes on fitness and nutrition regimes afterwards in order to lose it again.

Speaking to ABC News about slimming down for 2011 film Moneyball, the actor explained: "It was just mostly diet. I wish there was some crazy thing that I did, like a pill or a genie or something, but I went to see a nutritionist, and he told me what to eat to change my habits and stuff. I found that Japanese food was very helpful to me.

"I went to a nutritionist and I said, 'I'll lose weight, I'll eat healthier and whatever, but figure out how I can drink beer'. It's so annoying because if I don't drink beer, I get really really thin. Then when I drink beer, I get a little bigger."

Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jonah also added: "I gained weight for this movie War Dogs, and then I wanted to get in better shape, so I called Channing Tatum , and said, 'Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?'" said Jonah.

"And he said, 'Yes, you dumb motherf****r, of course you will, it's the simplest thing in the entire world."
