Ed Miliband's week-long stint on Radio 2 is the gift that just keeps on giving.

Yes, really.

The surreal segment was in aid of Glastonbury Festival launching its first ever metal stage, leading to this introduction from Ed: "In case you didn't know, that was a snippet of the song 'Hellspawn' by the band Morbid Angel."

As well as interviewing Mark, Ed played other death metal tracks from Wormrot and Napalm Death, including one of the shortest songs ever 'You Suffer'.

This led to the once-seen-never-forgotten moment where Ed – yes, the former Labour leader – attempted a death metal scream live on air, only to find out that he needed "more throat".

He had earlier joked (we think) about the fact that he was going to be talking about death metal on the show.

"I've been a groupie for SO long, been to the gigs, got the T-shirt, now's my chance to meet Napalm Death in person," Ed wrote on Twitter.
