If you think you've had a rough day, spare a thought for this bloke.

Simon Smith had just crossed the road in Reading on Saturday morning when a bus hit him in the back, with the astonishing moment captured on a CCTV camera nearby.

But, somehow, Simon managed to just get up, dust himself off and carry on into the pub like it was no big deal.

What a guy.

In the understatement of the year, Simon told BBC South Today that he was "lucky to be alive" as he walked away from the accident with only minor injuries, despite the impact throwing him along the pavement.

Reading Buses are said to be investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.

People who have been watching the footage online have been quick to praise Simon for his reaction, with one writing: "You have footballers who roll around the floor when there's slight contact, then you have this guy who's hit by a bus and gets straight up like nothing happened."

Simon's reaction even tops that of Costa Rican president Luis Guillermo Solís, who swallowed a wasp during a recent live press conference.

Instead of being disgusted like any of us would, Solís just carried on like it was nothing and, after a swig of water, even laughed and joked about it by saying it was "pure protein".
