A mere one minute and 30 seconds into Jay-Z's new album 4:44, Hov addresses what fans have been obsessively speculating about since Beyoncé released Lemonade last year.

On the opening track "Kill Jay Z," he raps in the third person:

"You egg Solange on knowing all along all you had to say was you was wrong / You almost went Eric Benet let the baddest girl in the world get away / I don't even know what to say, nigga never go Eric Benet."

Here, he's likely addressing the infamous video of his sister-in-law Solange attacking him in the elevator of a New York club. That, as fans have speculated, was a conflict related to the marital problems alluded to on Beyoncé's Lemonade.

Then later, the album's entire title track "4:44" appears to be an entire apology to his wife, with lyrics that include:

I apologise often womanise / Took for my child to be born / See through a woman's eyes / Took for these natural twins to believe in miracles / Took me too long for this song / I don't deserve you

Of course, more will be uncovered in the days and weeks to come.
