How did Ed Sheeran happen? Nobody knows, but it did, and now loads of people are unreasonably furious about it. So furious, in fact, that they spend all of their days ripping him apart on social media, driving the singer to delete his account.
The 'How Would You Feel' singer has expressed dismay at the waves of hatred he receives on the social media site, admitting that reading what's said is a downer on his day-to-day life.
"There's nothing but people saying mean things," he said in an interview with The Sun.
"One comment ruins your day. But that's why I've come off it. The head-f**k for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much."
Ed cited a recent example when reports in which he mentioned Lady Gaga got misconstrued, leading to negativity and hatred to come barrelling at him from Twitter users.
"Lady Gaga's fanbase read an interview in which they assumed I was talking about her and they all f**king hate. And it wasn't anything to do with that at all.
"So I think Twitter gets on a massive steam roll of assuming things and then you get in the shit."
