Frank Ocean and Brad Pitt took their pop-culture union to another, dizzying level on Friday night at the FYF Festival in L.A., where Ocean serenaded Pitt to the Carpenter's song 'Close to You' and Stevie Wonder's 'Never Can Say Goodbye.'

Pitt wasn't actually on stage while all of this was happening, though he was there. A video of the actor, who was offstage somewhere talking intensely on a phone, was projected on a large screen behind Ocean as he sang.

Attendees pointed out on Twitter that the director Spike Jonze was also on stage, leading to speculation that there's some kind of projects in the works. Right now that's pure speculation.

Pitt and Ocean's universes collided earlier this year after the actor said in an interview that he's been listening to Ocean's music to help get over his breakup from Angelina Jolie. "I find this young man so special. Talk about getting to the raw truth," Pitt said. "He's painfully honest. He's very, very special." Not long after the interview came out, Ocean wore a shirt emblazoned with Pitt's face during a performance in Manchester.
