Spare a thought for Piers Morgan who, according to Piers Morgan, has to deal with people wanting to kiss him every day.

Today's Good Morning Britain saw Piers, Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins discuss kissing etiquette, with Piers revealing he is not a fan of people who kiss on the lips as a greeting.

Susanna remarked that surely no-one else but Piers's wife would greet him with a kiss on the lips, leading Piers to drop the revelation that it happens all the time.

"People run up to me in the street, in pubs and things, and want to kiss me," he claimed. "I'm serious, I'm actually not kidding you. It does happen to me on an almost daily basis, random people want to run up and want to kiss me. I'm a lot more popular than you think."

Left a bit speechless by it all, Susanna spoke about Love Island star Chris Hughes's belief that nobody likes Piers. "It's not just like, it's adoration," Piers hit back, leading to this zinger from Susanna.

She joked: "Are you sure this is when you're awake and walking around?"

Good Morning Britain viewers were just as convinced by Piers's claims as Susanna was, and – of course – Lord Alan Sugar got involved.

Also on today's show, Piers was left fuming when activist Rachel Dolezal, who was born white but identifies as black, didn't turn up for her scheduled interview slot.

"We were looking forward to talking to her about her identify – she's written a book – but she's done a runner. She couldn't stand the heat so she got out of the kitchen before we even put the kettle on – to torture that metaphor. My apologies," Piers believed.
