Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan has been on a summer break from the show for a week now – so naturally he is dying to get back in limelight.

The 52-year-old was asked by TMZ whether he'd be interested in applying for the job, to which he said: "Apparently I'm a red-hot favourite, think I'm on about 8-1 now to be the new Spicy [referencing former White House press secretary Sean Spicer].

"I'm not sure, I don't think Donald could afford me."

The presenter previously claimed to be earning a whopping £22.5 million after he leaked the BBC's salaries ahead of the embargo.

However, he then joked how he could be swayed if the Don was prepared to give him £3 million upfront and a Ferrari.

It's not the first time Piers has made a bid for politics, he's previously threatened to run as British Prime Minister following the damp ending to this year's snap election.

He's also been very vocal about his friendship with Trump and has defended his election as President and style of politics numerous times.
