It's fair to say that Kanye West and Jay Z have a complicated friendship these days. While the rappers were once part of a #bromance, rumours of tension between the two have been swirling for months.

Now, Jay Z has finally started to address the speculation, telling Rap Radar's Elliott Wilson and Brian 'B.Dot' Miller: "You can't bring my kids and my wife into it."

In a clip on TMZ, he opened up about Kanye further, explaining: "We've gotten past bigger issues but you brought my family into it - that's a problem with me, that's a real, real problem.

"We've never let this much space go between one of our disagreements and we've had many, it's part of who we are, that's what I liked about him, he's this honest person, he'll say things - and he's wrong a lot of times - and we'll confront it."

It seems Jay Z is referencing Kanye's 20-minute rant on stage last year, which saw him confess that there were issues between the former friends. Shortly afterwards, Kanye was taken to hospital with exhaustion, and his Saint Pablo tour was cancelled.

During the rant, Kanye said: "Beyonce, I was hurt because I heard that you said you wouldn't perform unless you won Video of the Year over me and over Hotline Bling… Sometimes we be playing the politics too much and forget who we are just to win…"

He continued: "Jay-Z, call me, bruh. You still ain't called me. Jay-Z, I know you got killers. Please don't send them at my head. Please call me. Talk to me like a man."

As for bringing Jay Z's children into it, Kanye said that Blue Ivy still hasn't met North or Saint, telling the crowd: "Bring the kids by the house like we're brothers. Let's sit down. I can't take this shit bro. Our kids have never even played together."

Still, while Jay Z said there's a "real, real problem" there, it doesn't sound like he's turned his back on rekindling the bromance with Kanye just yet. We'll have to wait and see…
