This Jim Carrey interview is something to behold.

The Ace Ventura star made an appearance at an event at New York Fashion Week and was cornered by one reporter. Seems standard, right?

Well, it was for about one second before the reporter asked if he was wandering in the streets and things began to get awkward and very existential.

The star was attending the Harper's BAZAAR Celebrates ICONS By Carine Roitfeld party, though told E! News: "I wanted to find the most meaningless thing I could come to and join, and here I am."

"You have to admit it's completely meaningless," he said, with the confused reporter noting that they are "celebrating icons". Carrey then hit back: "Boy that is just the absolute lowest aiming possibility that we could come up with.

"I don't believe in icons, I don't believe in personalities. I believe that peace lies beyond personalities, beyond invention and disguise, beyond the red S you wear on your chest, that makes bullets bounce off."

The reporter noted he did get dressed up, though Carrey then claimed he "didn't get dressed up, there is no me" and said that "there's just things happening, and there are clusters of tetrahedrons moving around together".

Oh, and apparently "this is not our world, we don't matter".

So apart from that, Jim, how did you enjoy the evening?
