Lana Del Rey made her return to music earlier this year with the release of her single 'Love', and later followed that up by dropping two more in time for the summer – 'Summer Bummer' and 'Groupie Love'.
But now, Lana has released the third music video to feature a track from her new album Lust for Life, and it's one of the most wistful and weird videos we've seen from the singer in a while.
Set in a futuristic Los Angeles, 'White Mustang' tells the story of the end of a romance, with the video focusing on expansive mansions, the beginnings of Lana's character's relationship with her musician boyfriend (played by Icelandic actor Eðvarð Egilsson) and the moments that lead to their fractured relationship.
It ends with Lana driving around in the Mustang, which is implied to belong to the boyfriend, as she stares ahead to the soundtrack of a lone mariachi trumpet solo that was used to score her memories of embracing the boyfriend.
"Everybody said you're a killer, but I couldn't stop the way I was feeling the day your record dropped," Lana sings on the track.
"I was such a fool for believing that you could change all the ways you've been living, but you just couldn't stop."
Lana's new album Lust for Life is her fifth studio record, and the follow-up to 2015's Honeymoon. It features guest appearances from the likes of A$AP Rocky, Sean Lennon and Playboi Carti, as well as Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks on 'Beautiful People Beautiful Problems' and The Weeknd on title track 'Lust for Life'.
